MANDATED NOTICING

Power Content Labels (PDF)

The Power Content Label is part of the California Energy Commission‘s annual reporting requirements. The Energy Commission describes it as: “You can think of the power content label as a ‘nutrition label’ for electricity. The power content label provides information about the energy resources used to generate electricity that is put into the power grid. Just as a nutrition label provides information about the food you eat, the power content label provides information about your electricity sources.”

Joint Rate Mailers (PDF)

Every summer PG&E and Community Choice Energy providers, including SJCE, send customers a joint rate mailer (JRM) comparing the providers’ rates and power mix for the previous year.

Is your electricity bill higher than usual?

It could be due to one of the following reasons:

  1. Warm weather: summertime can cause energy bills to spike. Find ways to save energy and money by reading our blog.
  2. Solar true-up: Many solar customers are seeing their SJCE true-up for the first time, which could include more than 12 months of generation charges. This is not an extra charge! Learn more in our article about solar true-ups.

Remember, all electricity customers pay for electric generation and delivery. SJCE is not an extra charge on your bill. Learn more about your energy bill here.
